Teacher of Mathematics
We invite applications from enthusiastic Mathematics teachers to join the dedicated staff at Simonds Catholic College in a permanent role commencing 27 January 2026. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic learning environment that values creativity, rigour, and collaboration. The teaching load includes:
- VCE Unit 1 & 2 Foundation Maths
- Yr 7 - 10 Maths
- Yr 9 Homeroom Teacher
The successful candidate will:
- have current VIT registration
- hold a valid visa and/or full Australian Working Rights and provide evidence of this.
- be constantly striving for excellence in their teaching and have high expectations of their students
- motivate students of all abilities to learn through an innovative approach to teaching so that they reach their potential
- have high level skills in the use of technology in their teaching and in the monitoring of student learning and growth
- connect positively with students and show genuine care for their learning and wellbeing.
Salary: [$78,801 - $116,894] Based on experience in accordance with the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA)

Learning Support Officer
The available roles will be between 0.5 and full-time (Fixed Contract from January 2026 to December 2026) with the possibility of ongoing work.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Learning Support Officer to work in our Learning Diversity Team. The successful applicant will join a team to assist teachers and students in the classroom under the direction of the Learning Diversity Coordinator.
The role involves working closely with students with a variety of learning profiles and having the ability to engage and inspire with positivity is critical. The role may involve working with a specific student with complex needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- The capacity to adapt behaviour management techniques to meet individual needs
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs that include ASD, ADHD and OCD.
- The ability to enforce routine and boundaries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
- Kindness, intuition, and a good sense of humour
Suitable qualifications and experience in a similar role are desirable, but not essential and pre-service teachers are encouraged to apply. Ability to work with students in the upper years, particularly in Maths, Science and Italian, is an advantage.
Depending upon qualifications and experience, the salary will be in the range of a Level ES2 (2B) – ES2 (7B) but those with teaching qualifications would be in the mid to upper levels.
