Student and Family Support

Student welfare is the responsibility of all members of the College community, but the responsibility for leadership in this area is one of the primary functions of the Student Welbeing Coordinator. The Deputy Principals work closely with the School Counsellor, Year Level Coordinators and Pastoral Care Teachers to ensure that each student is provided with a caring, happy and safe environment in which to learn.

Student Counselling - The Wellbeing at Simonds Program – “The W@SP”

The College’s concern for the wellbeing of its students is reflected in the appointment of full-time Coordinator of Student Wellbeing/Counsellor, who conducts “The W@SP” – The Wellbeing At Simonds Program”. Through the
W@SP program, individual counselling, group counselling and a range of programs supportive of wellbeing are conducted. With due regard to mandatory reporting legislation, counselling is confidential and is offered free of charge to all students and their parents. Support to members of the college community can be provided
through individual or family counselling; consultancy and advice to teachers and parents on issues relating to adolescent development, and through referral to external agencies as required.
A wellbeing committee comprising staff, and a student wellbeing team, work to ensure that Simonds College is a place where members of the College community are known, understood, valued and assisted to be their best.
The Coordinator of Student Wellbeing/Counsellor is Mr. Pascal Rohan who may be contacted directly by phoning 9321 9208/9403 6851 or by emailing him at
