The sport program at Simonds aims to foster and develop a wide range of experiences for all our students. Emphasis is based on participation and enjoyment.

House Competitions

Every student is placed in one of four sporting houses when they commence at the College; Goold (gold), Knox (green), Mannix (blue) and Polding (red).

Throughout the year the four houses compete in Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, as well as other Intra-house events such as Simonds Day. These competitions enable students to develop team spirit, build camaraderie and foster a positive environment for students across all year levels.

Inter school Sport

The school is a member of the ACC (Associated Catholic Colleges) and sporting association. Being a member enables our students to compete in a multitude of sports ranging from Athletics, Swimming and Cross Country carnivals to Football, Soccer, Basketball, Table Tennis, Cricket and Volleyball competitions. During terms 2, 3 and 4 boys may compete in the Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 ACC weekly interschool sport competition, with Year 11/12 students having the opportunity to participate in sports from terms 1 to 3.

All students are able to try out for various teams with scheduled training sessions held either before, during or after school.

The ACC compeitions are held at different schools throughout the Melbourne area, even having to head out to Geelong for some matches.
